The UNITY Institute certification program is a comprehensive training tool that guides corporate leaders toward building an LGBTQ-inclusive workplace. Our training modules are designed so that employees at every level of leadership can learn how their unique influence and responsibilities can lift up the company - ensuring that everyone benefits.
This training is designed specifically for C-suite employees. This high energy 1-hour module begins with basic terminology around gay and transgender identity, and an overview of Arizona’s LGBTQ population.
Next you will learn about why inclusion is so vital for businesses that want to stay competitive and sustainable, as well as what businesses risk by not being inclusive. Finally, through our detailed 3-step action plan, we will show you how to become an LGBTQ-affirming company and reap the many benefits of inclusion.
The training module for company leadership is best suited for directors, branch managers, department heads, and any other employees in oversight or managerial positions. The training begins with an overview of the terminology needed to understand the LGBTQ community.
Next we examine what it looks like to be an LGBTQ Arizonan, and discuss the corporate benefits of inclusion. Then we take a deep dive into understanding sexual orientation and gender identity, and how to create an affirming workplace for LGBTQ and allied employees. We conclude this module with an exercise called the Unity Journey that provides a safe space for asking questions and growing in understanding. Participants will walk away with resource guides featuring best practices and next steps.
This training module is suitable for employees at every level from interns to directors, and is perfect for companies that want to increase their company-wide understanding of LGBTQ-affirming workplace culture.
This training covers terminology needed to understand the LGBTQ community, what it looks like to be an LGBTQ Arizonan, and the corporate benefits of inclusion. The module also focuses on understanding sexual orientation and gender identity, and how every employee plays a role in creating an affirming workplace. We conclude this module with our experiential Unity Journey exercise and field discussion/questions from trainees.
